Asthma
Asthma is a disease that affects the lungs and
breathing. . Very common chronic diseases of children. Symptoms
include episodes of wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest
tightness, and nighttime or early morning coughing. Asthma can
be controlled with medication and by limiting exposure to
environmental “triggers,” such as cockroaches, dust
mites, pets, mold, tobacco smoke, and certain chemicals.
Some asthma can be treated in an Urgent Care setting, other
cases need treatment in the Emergency Department and potential
hospitalization. Some walk in urgent care clinics have
nebulizer treatments that can break mild to moderate asthma
attacks. Some simply stabilize a patient prior to transfer
to a hospital
